Time of Change for Tuesday

A dubious crusade

1. Dubious - uncertain result, doubtful, questionable
2. Crusade - any vigorous, aggressive movement for the defense or advancement of an idea

It relates to it because it says that it was Dubious. We don't really know why we got in the war or when it started so it is defined as "questionable" Also with the large loss of life the citizens were upset and questioned the governments judgment. Also it is said the we got in the war to show that the US was invincible and it showed authority. That supports the crusade title because it was a movement for an idea (invincible) The unit will try to show why we got in the war.

History

The theme of the poem is like a chain reaction, and the problems in Asia

Gulf of Tonkin Resolution

1. The Gulf of Tonkin Resolution is contreversial
2. President Johnson used military action in Asia without declaring war
3. The thesis is supported by saying that many think that the presidents action in the time are responsible for our deep involvement in the vietnam war
